Visiting Egypt in February
Climate and weather guide
February
Temperatures are reaching the mid-20Cs in Upper Egypt, often hitting 25C in Luxor and Aswan this month, and it’s warm and sunny in Cairo and Lower Egypt too, although you might experience some showers, particularly in Alexandria where it’s slightly cooler. The water is still warm at the Red Sea. Be prepared for chilly mornings and evenings across the country, and for temperatures to drop under 10C at night though. It’s another busy month, especially over February half-term, as people make the most of the winter sun. Ramadan may also be taking place this month, although this certainly doesn’t stop you from exploring Egypt.
