South Korea in December

December brings the true start of winter, with cold, dry air, occasional snowfall and festive lights across Seoul's shopping districts and palaces. Ski resorts near Seoraksan National Park open for the season, and cities take on a cosy, atmospheric feel with steaming street food stalls and warmly lit cafés offering respite from the cold. Busan, milder than the rest of the country, makes a good option if you'd rather dodge the harshest of the winter chill. It's a lovely time to combine city sightseeing with a side trip to the mountains, particularly if you're hoping to catch some early-season snow.

Or perhaps you’re thinking of travelling on another month..?
