Visiting South Korea in April
South Korea in April
April is peak cherry blossom season and one of the most popular months to visit South Korea. Seoul's Yeouido Park and the Han River turn pink with blossom, Gyeongju's Bomun Lake path is one of the country's most photographed blossom walks, and near Busan, Jinhae's Gunhangje Festival, the country's largest cherry blossom celebration, draws millions to its blossom-lined streets and a military parade beneath the trees. Temperatures are pleasantly mild, days are longer, and the whole country feels like it's shaking off winter. Just be prepared for it to be busy, and book trains and hotels well ahead if you're chasing the blossoms.
