Product Specialist

What is the role?

This is a great opportunity to join an established, growing tour operator in a rarely available product role.

As a Product Specialist, you will aide the growth of Rickshaw Travel’s product portfolio to drive business growth towards our vision of becoming a market-leader in sustainable travel.  You will also support the sales team as required to ensure you stay close to our customer’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with the International Product Team based in Netherlands and Germany on UK-specific product needs.
  • Responsible for the process of translating and implementing products from our international businesses into the UK market.
  • Create engaging, informative and inspirational content for the website and booking platforms in-line with the Rickshaw tone of voice
  • Oversee UK pricing.
  • Point of contact for the UK sales team. Fixing and optimising products based on needs and feedback.
  • Point of contact for UK marketing team. Providing content, support and market knowledge.
  • Stay up to date with UK market trends and needs to further identify customer needs and opportunities.
  • FAM trip owner for all staff business trips.
  • Working with marketing to update and optimise the product pages on the website.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the international team and local suppliers, sharing best practices, ideas, and efficiencies.
  • As is required, you’ll also be part of the sales team, contributing to revenue generation.
  • Visit one destination per year for product development purposes that will benefit UK sales/marketing.

What have you got?

  • Experience of working in the travel industry in either a sales or product role and knowledge of the UK travel market are essential.
  • Collaboration is integral to your responsibilities, involving engagement with numerous (international) stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the marketing mix and how this can be used to nurture online conversion.
  • You must be a hard worker, but a strategic one. Focus your efforts where you can have the most impact.
  • Great communication skills, bringing the product team/DMCs and/or sales and marketing teams into the conversations
  • Adapting to various target groups is essential. Your understanding of these groups will enable you to tailor our product accordingly.
  • Planning and organisational skills. The ability to set goals and priorities, and to consistently make the right decisions to achieve them. You can distinguish between urgent and important tasks.
  • Problem-solving skills. You actively seek logical, concrete, and realistic solutions to problems.
