Your day-by-day itinerary

Arrival in Xi'an

Day 1

Arrival in Xi'an

When you arrive in Xi’an you’ll be transferred to your comfortable central hotel. The city is a big business hub and the accommodation reflects this but it’s central location makes up for it’s lack of small scale charm. The rest of the day is yours for the taking. Wander around the Muslim district, thick with the scented smoke of barbecued meats and spices or browse through one of the huge mega-malls.

Xi’an – Evening Gourmet Walking Tour

During your stay in Xi’an you’re not going to want to miss out on exploring the Muslim Quarter. The area comes alive at night with food stalls, various street acts and music and what could be better than to be guided through the narrow alleyways tasting all sorts of local delights and cuisine as you go. You’re exploring on foot so be sure to wear some comfy shoes.

Terracotta Army and Departure

The following morning, you’ll set off from your hotel to the Terracotta Army, one of China’s most staggering and curious sights. Here, you will buy your ticket and amble at your own pace between rows upon rows of Terracotta Warriors. When you’ve finished looking around this impressive site your driver will transfer you back to your hotel in Xi’an.

The rest of your time is your own; rent a bicycle and cycle along the city walls or spend an afternoon people watching at the popular Big Goose Pagoda. On the last day of this trip, you’ll pack your bags and continue your journey through China. If you would like us to include your transfer to the train station or airport just let your Travel Specialist know.

"I was lucky enough to travel across China for two months and the more I explored, the more I loved; from its ancient towns to its futuristic cities. My top highlight has to be the mountainous scenery of Yunnan."
