Arrival in Delhi
When you arrive in Delhi, you’ll be collected from the airport and transferred to your comfortable central hotel, near to both the ancient spice bazaars of Chandi Chowk and the modern glitz of Connaught Place.
Sunrise at the Taj Mahal
Visit mystical monkey temples and ghost cities en route to sunrise at the Taj Mahal. A real wonder of the world, it’s a building that will take your breath away. India’s Golden Triangle is the stuff of legend, with the ethereal Taj Mahal at its pinnacle. This trip will take you to Agra, where you’ll watch dawn break over the Taj Mahal.
Jaipur - City Tour & Amber Fort Visit
Today, you’ll be transferred to the Pink City of Jaipur, where you’ll stay in a boutique, family-run hotel. The next day you’ll take a guided tour of this remarkable city, visiting the City Palace, the Observatory and the fairy-tale Palace of the Winds (Hawa Mahal). In the afternoon, you’ll visit Amber Fort before heading back to central Jaipur which is jumble of colours, camel carts, elephants, rickshaws, temples, forts and palaces.
Pushkar is one of the holiest towns in India and is built around a beautiful lake. On the Ghats leading down to the water, you’ll see pilgrims bathing and singing softly. Pushkar is a picturesque town in the desert, with pastel-coloured buildings lining narrow streets. Wander through the twisting alleys of the old centre and soak up the sacred atmosphere.
Ox Carts and a Majestic Fort
Far away from the bustling cities we’ve found a haven of peace, the small village of Barli, well known for its Fort. Fort Barli has now been converted into a renowned heritage hotel, and is a must-stop on your India trip. We’ll arrange for you to explore this historical village by ox cart. You’ll pass craftsmen at work, visit a temple and also stop by to visit a local family their home.
Today you’ll arrive in Jodhpur, also known as ‘The Blue City’ and home of the dramatic Mehrangarh Fort, one of the most impressive Mughal forts in India. In Jodhpur, you can wander through the narrow alleyways of the city, where rope-makers colour their warps and spice-sellers display their aromatic wares.
Relaxing in Rural Rajasthan
Rajasthan is well-known for its bustling cities, however, nestled between these popular stops we’ve found a small, oasis of calm. Narlai is a small village with authentic accommodation where you can take it easy and charge your batteries during your Rajasthan trip. The accommodation here offers a real flavour of India.
Udaipur - City Tour & Boat Trip
Arriving in Udaipur, you’ll see the legendary Lake Palace that floats on an island in the centre of a glassy lake. The following morning, you’ll explore the magical city of Udaipur, visit the City Palace, and the Jagdish Temple with beautiful views over the Lake Palace. Next, you’ll go on a boat trip on Lake Pichola. Afterwards, you can wander through the town, try your hand at haggling in the bazaars, and snap up some samosas from a street food stall.
This time round we’ll arrange for you to stay at our Delhi airport hotel. This is your chance to do some last minute souvenir buying or sightseeing. If you haven’t been already then the India Gate, a war memorial arch, and the impressive Parliament Building are worth a visit. Then it’s time to get some rest as you’ll be flying the next day.
