Kalimantan bite-sized trips
Create your own ideal holiday
The southern part of Borneo, Kalimantan, is less explored than the other Indonesian islands and is as wild as it comes.
How does it work?
- Explore our regions and pick your favourite bite-sized trips.
- Add them to your travel plan and send it our way.

Cruise down the winding jungle rivers, meet indigenous Dayak people and spot orangutans in their natural habitat during your adventure to the heart of Kalimantan. You will be living on board a traditional wooden boat (klotok) and waking up to the sights and sounds of the untouched rainforest.

Embark on an adventure in search of wild orangutans released to the rainforest back in the 90’s. Using your quirky eco-lodge as a base, you will spend the next few days exploring the protected area of Samboja Lestari and learning about local flora, fauna and Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation.

Explore central Kalimantan and spot orangutans from the water on a traditional boat tour along the shores of Kaja Island, where rescued orangutans are prepared for life in the wild in their natural habitat.

“From the moment I first stepped off the plane, I was swept away by Indonesia’s charm and beauty- so much so, that I’ve since lost count of how many times I’ve been! It’s got beaches, cultural wonders, wildlife & warm weather. What’s not to love?”
