    Discover a breezy highland world of misty mountains, forest waterfalls and serene temple lakes in Munduk, a hilltop retreat with heaps of local character. Spend two nights wandering through the hills and valleys surrounding the village of Munduk, with staggering views at every step. Follow scenic trails through vanilla, coffee and clove plantations to glimmering lakes and visit island temples in the hills.

    Day 1 – Arrival & trek around Munduk

    After arriving in Munduk, you’ll get settled in your lovely cottage hidden amongst a sea of flowers and ponds with beautiful views over the valley below. Next, you’ll head out on a hike with a local guide into the countryside. On the way, you’ll visit a waterfall and weave between magnificent rice paddies.

    Day 2-3 – Temple lake tour & departure

    Today, you’ll visit a temple perched on an island marooned in the middle of a blue mountain lake. Wandering around the temple, you may be lucky enough to see a colourful procession of local Balinese people in traditional dress carrying fruit offerings. Ceremonies are regularly held in this temple, and you’re welcome to observe them at a discreet distance.

    The next day, you can take another short trek after breakfast or just enjoy the wonderful scenery from your lazy chair before hitting the road again.
