Day 1 – Arrival in the lagoon city

Staying in Venice is all about location, so you’ll be staying in a hotel that is on the lagoon side of the city, very close to St. Mark’s Square. The owners take care of their guests and are happy to give tips and recommendations over your morning cappuccino. The rest of today is yours to enjoy the canals and bridges, as well as St. Mark’s Basilica. Lose yourself in the small alleys, stroll behind the famous St. Mark’s Square and over the Rialto Bridge to the more distant parts of the city.

Days 2-3 – City walks with culinary experiences

After your morning coffee and buffet breakfast today, venture into the city to discover some of the more famous and lesser-known parts of Venice. The city knows all about good food and local specialties, ranging from a little cicchetti, a kind of Venetian tapas, to a typical risotto dish. With your belly full you can then explore the sights of the city and its surroundings. If the city is too crowded for you during the day, just take a trip to the Prosecco region or head out to Burano and its brightly coloured fishermen’s houses.

Day 4 – Departure from Venice

It’s now time to say goodbye to the caring owners and head back over the causeway to mainland Italy. From here you can head North to the Dolomites and Bolzano or explore the birthplace of the Renaissance in Florence.
