Getting around Lapland

General information

huskies running in the snow

During your Lapland adventure, you will leave the driving to the locals. We will organise all your transfers for you as part of your itinerary, from each accommodation to the next and during your excursions.

Cars in Lapland are well equipped with winter tyres, made for the snowy roads. Our professional drivers are used to driving in these extreme circumstances so you can sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Snowmobile Safari

The snowmobile is the means of transport used by a lot of Finns in this area during the winter. You’ll drive about 20 km per hour on average, depending on how confident you feel, and we include full insurance. There is an excess of up to £800 though. You will receive a full briefing and instruction from the guide.

Please note that to drive a snowmobile you must be at least 18 years old and provide proof you have held a scooter driver’s licence for at least one year.If you don’t have a licence we may be able to provide a driver at an additional cost.

Husky Tour

What springs to mind when you think of Lapland? One of the top experiences for us is a husky sledge tour. Sit back under cosy blankets and enjoy the peace as the huskies pull your sled through the snow. Along the way you make a stop for a warming drink at a campfire as the dogs rest.

The Arctic Circle Express

Lose yourself in the Arctic scenery passing by as you travel on the Arctic Circle Express train. As the train weaves its way through gorges, past fjords and mountains you can sit back and take it all in from the comfort of your carriage.
