Throughout your holiday, you’ll also have a local guide and driver who’ll be with you every step of the way. They’ll be on hand to answer any questions you have about their beautiful country, as well as sharing some local tips to help you get that little bit closer to the real Bhutan.
Who are they?
Our Bhutanese local partner has been helping travellers explore the country since 2003. Over the years, they’ve built a dedicated team specialising in cultural experiences and trekking. Their guides are all trained and certified by the Tourism Council of Bhutan, with regular refresher training and opportunities to travel to neighbouring countries to broaden their knowledge and experience.
Their head office is in Thimphu, just a short distance from the famous clock tower. From here, their team share their deep knowledge of Bhutan, from its landscapes and traditions to the myths, legends and stories that bring this fascinating mountain kingdom to life.
Making good things happen together
Like us, our local partners in Bhutan believe travel can have a positive impact. They support small-scale projects across the country, including Shoe Help, a not-for-profit organisation that collects used shoes and distributes them to people in rural communities.
They also make sure their own team has a voice in how the business is run. Twice a year, they hold discussion forums where employees can share ideas and get involved in business decisions. Staff also receive an annual bonus and salary review, as well as access to an emergency loan if they need financial support.
