Day 1 - Arrival at Golgulsa temple
Around 30 minutes after leaving Gyeongju, you'll arrive at Golgulsa temple, where you’ll spend the night tucked away in the hills, surrounded by lush greenery and colourful temple buildings. Once you arrive, you’ll check in and receive everything you need for your stay, including a pillowcase, sheet, towel, vest and trousers. This is the perfect opportunity to experience temple life in the most authentic way.
Depending on your group size, you’ll sleep in a shared hall or room, with simple mats on the floor, shared bathroom facilities and air conditioning to keep you comfortable through the night. Once you’ve settled in, it’s time to experience the first rituals of temple life as the monks welcome you into their daily rhythm.
In the evening, you’ll sit down for a vegetarian meal together in one of the temple buildings. Local women from the surrounding community prepare the food, which you’ll enjoy together around long communal tables. It’s a chance to slow down, reflect on the day and enjoy a delicious, home-cooked meal.
Depending on the temple where you stay, there may also be a chance to learn a little more about the local culture before turning in for the night. Temple life starts early, so you’ll follow the monks’ routine and head to bed, ready to rise at around 5:00 am. The sleeping mats are simple but surprisingly comfortable, and earplugs are provided to help you get a good night’s sleep.

Day 2 - Meditation and breathwork
The alarm goes off early; time for some breathing and stretching exercises. Listen to your body, breathe in the rhythm of the monks, do some light exercises and enjoy being present in the moment. After breakfast, there is plenty of time to explore the area at your leisure. Stroll through the greenery, see the beautiful Buddha statues and just let yourself unwind. After this, it's time to travel on to your next destination. If you are travelling by public transport, you can easily arrange a taxi at the reception.
