If you fancy a more active adventure, take a bike ride along the winding mountain roads, leading you past deserted bays and idyllic mountain villages, where the presence of wild olive trees adds a touch of untamed beauty.

Day 1 – Arrival at Kefalonia

Arrive on Kefalonia, a hidden gem among the Ionian islands, where you will discover picturesque harbour towns full of colourful Venetian mansions, evoking a sense of timeless beauty. This quieter island offers a serene retreat, where you can uncover hidden treasures such as secluded white sandy beaches nestled between steep cliffs, with only a handful of fellow explorers to share the beauty with. As you arrive, check into your apartment in the harbour of the village of Agia Efimia. Set along a scenic boulevard, this idyllic setting allows you to indulge in delicious local cuisine while embracing the laid-back Greek pace of life.

Days 2-3 – Cycling at Argostoli & free time

Today you’ll hop on a bike to explore a different part of the island. Traverse the winding roads that meander through the lush green hills of the island’s interior. As you pedal along, you’ll soon arrive in the charming town of Argostoli, the vibrant capital of Kefalonia. Take a leisurely stroll along the boulevard, and if luck is on your side, catch a glimpse of the majestic Caretta Caretta turtles gracefully swimming near the fishing boats. Continue your countryside exploration, cycling past scenic vineyards and discovering hidden coves adorned with red and grey sand beaches. In the evening, return to the bustling boulevard for another delightful Greek feast.

The following day is free for you to do as you please. There is so much to see and do among the steep green rock cliffs, pristine white sand beaches and shimmering turquoise waters. Take a trip to the captivating village of Assos, where you can wander through its picturesque streets lined with pastel-colored old mansions and catch a glimpse of the Venetian castle that graces this car-free haven. From there, it is a 20 minute drive to Myrthos beach, renowned as one of the most beautiful on the island. End the day with a magical boat trip to Lake Melissani, a mystical wonder partially nestled within a captivating cave.

Day 4 – Departure from Kefalonia

After another hearty Greek breakfast, you can either drive your rental car to the airport and head home or stick around and make it an Ionian island hopping adventure. The island has four different ports and ferries that run regularly to Lefkas and Zakynthos.
