  • Duration:
    3 days / 2 nights (flexible)

Amble between the soldiers of the ancient Terracotta Army and wander around the Bell Tower in Xi’an. A modern city with an imperial past, it’s an eye-opening window into Chinese culture. Drenched in history and jam-packed with skyscrapers, it’s a fascinating place to explore. You’ll spend two nights in China’s past Imperial Capital, soaking up the atmosphere and zipping between the sites with a local guide. A lively, forward-thinking city scattered with ancient relics, you’ll get a real glimpse of China’s contrasts. Cycle along the city walls, bash your credit card in the malls and breathe in the tasty aromas of the Muslim district.

Day 1 – Arrival in Xi’an

When you arrive in Xi’an you’ll be transferred to your comfortable central hotel. The city is a big business hub and the accommodation reflects this but it’s central location makes up for it’s lack of small scale charm. The rest of the day is yours for the taking. Wander around the Muslim district, thick with the scented smoke of barbecued meats and spices or browse through one of the huge mega-malls.

Days 2-3 – Terracotta Army and departure

The following morning, you’ll set off from your hotel to the Terracotta Army, one of China’s most staggering and curious sights. Here, you will buy your ticket and amble at your own pace between rows upon rows of Terracotta Warriors. When you’ve finished looking around this impressive site your driver will transfer you back to your hotel in Xi’an.

The rest of your time is your own; rent a bicycle and cycle along the city walls or spend an afternoon people watching at the popular Big Goose Pagoda. On the last day of this trip, you’ll pack your bags and continue your journey through China. If you would like us to include your transfer to the train station or airport just let your Travel Specialist know.
