Arrival in Gialova
Just above Pylos is the small seaside town of Gialova, an oasis of peace where you can fully let go and treat yourself to the good life. Gialova has a colorful bay with clear blue water and a golden sandy beach. Today you’ll check into your apartment that is about a ten-minute walk from the beach. In the evening, walk down to promenade, where you will find authentic Greek tavernas and terraces with a sea view.

Cycle along the lagoon
The following day, you’ll forget the car and we’ll arrange your bike hire for you to jump on a bicycle and explore the area around Gialova on your own. There are local supermarkets for you to take a picnic with you, before cycling along the lagoon, stopping at different photo opportunities along the way. Eventually you’ll climb a little higher into the hills, where you’ll discover views of the lagoons with their sandy beaches. Be sure to keep an eye out for the number of different bird species in the lagoon – even flamingos are a regular here.

A day to yourself in Gialova
You’ll wake up today and what you do is entirely up to you. If you can’t get enough of the water, you can rent a boat from the harbour and explore the lagoon from the water, or swim at one of the waterfalls that are less than a ten-minute drive away. For history buffs, there are remains in Pylos, among others, from various naval battles and the tree-shaded central square is a great place for lunch. In the museum of the Neokastro castle you will find old maps and drawings of one of the many naval battles.

Departure from Gialova
Take another fresh morning dip in the pool this morning, before loading up your car and heading on your way. You will probably drive from Gialova towards lively Nafplion, an old royal city with colorful streets and terraces, from which you can visit the impressive amphitheater Epidaurus and the ruins of Mycenae.
