Day 1 – High mountains and deep gorges
Today you will travel over majestic mountains and along breathtaking gorges, all while catching glimpses of the awe-inspiring Lefka Ori mountains in the distance. The scent of pines and tamarisk will let you know you have arrived in Chora Sfakion. This is the perfect base for a few active days and you will stay in a small hotel with a balcony that has a stunning sea view. It’s within walking distance to the two main streets, charming taverns and the beach. Take the evening to relax and build up some energy for your adventures that await you tomorrow!
Day 2 – Walk through the Imbros Gorge
After a hearty breakfast this morning, you’ll put on your hiking boots and head to the remarkable Imbros Gorge. This hidden gem, often overshadowed by its larger counterpart, Samaria, offers a quieter and more intimate experience, allowing you to take things at your own pace. We’ll arrange a taxi to take you to the entrance of the gorge. Then, equipped with a hiking map and picnic lunch you will hike through the stunning five-mile canyon. At you emerge from the gorge, freshen up in one of the charming taverns before embarking on the more relaxing 5km stroll back to Chora Sfakion.
Day 3 – Departure from Chora Sfakion
The time has come to pack up your car and continue your adventure. Choose the beautiful route along the south coast to Agia Galini where a relaxing stay awaits you after all that exercise, or drive to the north coast of Crete and discover the charming city of Chania for the next few days.
