Castaway Carribbean beaches

Cuba is fringed by some of the world’s most glorious beaches, so kick off your flip-flops and dive right in! You’ll be greeted by waving palm trees, warm seas and sugar-white sand. Off the coastline, there’s a small scattering of islands guaranteed to send you into a Robinson Crusoe reverie. Swing in a hammock, snorkel through coral reefs and stroll barefoot along the beach at sunset.

Fill your honeymoon with Cuban charm

Cuba’s white-washed sands have always lured newly-weds to relax and enjoy some Caribbean rays but there is so much more to a Cuba honeymoon than just beaches. Roll your own his and hers cigars in scenic Viñales, dance up a storm in Old Havana, and drink Mojitos with the locals in Santiago.

Have a road trip to remember

When the freedom of the open road calls head to Cuba for a trip with a difference. Road-signs will help guide your way around the country, and travelling at your own pace allows plenty of time for impromptu stops along the journey. Cruise along the palm-fringed coastal roads of Baracoa, navigate the dusty red tracks of Viñales and pass horse-drawn carts on the cobbled streets of Trinidad.

Cities with real soul

Cuba’s cities need to be seen to be believed. Old Havana, its crowning glory, is a spellbinding muddle of crumbling colonial mansions, shady plazas, cobbled streets and laundry-strewn balconies. Brightly coloured vintage Buicks line the pavements and salsa music drifts through the alleyways. It’s like a step back in time. Beyond Havana, Trinidad and Santiago are sensual, high-spirited cities where bands strike up in the streets and rowdy hole-in-the-wall rum bars stay open far into the night.

Local experiences

Given Cuba’s unique and incredible past, it’s not surprising that the locals have great stories to tell. The Cubans are good-hearted, bright-eyed and resilient people who will warmly welcome you into their homes. Staying in a family home (casa particular) is, hands down, the best way to meet local people and get a feel for Cuban hospitality. We can’t recommend it highly enough.
