Arrival in San Cristóbal

After travelling into the mountains of Sierra Madre de Chiapas, you’ll arrive in the valley and San Cristóbal de las Casas. You’ll be staying in a colourful posada with beautifully decorated rooms located in the old centre. The centre of San Cristobal is car-free, so you can wander around the winding cobbled streets at a snail’s pace and take your time choosing which restaurant or bar to hang out in next.

San Juan Chamula tour

After breakfast today you’ll meet with a local guide for a trip to San Juan Chamula, heartland of indigenous Tzotzil culture. The Chamulans have proudly kept their traditions and way of life alive, and as you explore the village you’ll learn all about their culture and religion, as well as seeing their craftwork and cookery techniques. You’ll be back in San Cristóbal in the afternoon, in time for a relaxing evening strolling through the old town.
