Laguna Bacalar, often known as the "Lake of Seven Colours," is a freshwater lake nestled near the Caribbean coast. Its unique ever-changing, vibrant hues, from emerald green to turquoise will leave you captivated. You’ll stay in a simple bungalow set in lush grounds near the shore, and set out for an early morning kayaking trip on the still lake.

Day 1 – Arrival at Laguna Bacalar

Once you arrive at the lake, you’ll settle into your accommodation for the evening – a simple cabana set amongst the forest. There’s a restaurant on site, and the grounds of the hotel are great to explore. You can even wander down to the lake and take an afternoon swim to cool off after your journey here.

Day 2 – Morning kayaking before continuing your journey

Early in the morning you’ll be met by a local guide, ready to get out on the lake by kayak. You’ll be on the water in time to see the sun rise over the still waters, and as wildlife begins to wake up on the shores and in the mangrove forests. After breakfast, back at the hotel it’ll be time to continue your journey.
