Swooping Cranes in Sweeping Valleys
Journey to the undulating hills and misty valleys of Phobjikha. This untouched landscape is home to the rare black-necked crane from November to February. These beautiful birds migrate here all the way from the plains of Tibet.
Time for Thimphu
If you want a guaranteed sight of Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin, then head to Thimphu. Here you’ll find the Motithang Takin Preserve, a reserve area for Takin. The animals are quite tame so there’s a good chance their curiosity will bring them right up to the fence.
