Day 1 – Arrival at authentic Amorgos

You’ll reach the island by ferry, where anticipation builds as you catch sight of the iconic white houses nestled into the majestic hills. You will stay in a characteristic hotel nestled within a traditional village, just a stone’s throw away from a narrow beach and inviting tavernas. This rugged volcanic island is relatively small with the villages, beaches and renowned monasteries perched gracefully on the rocky terrain, all within easy reach of a short bus ride. Take the evening to explore the amazing restaurants in the village, where authentic flavours and warm hospitality intertwine.

Days 2 – Snorkelling tour

Today you will discover the captivating underwater world of Amorgos with your snorkel set. Choose either a morning or evening start, allowing you to revel in the vibrant marine life while avoiding the intense midday sun. Accompanied by knowledgeable staff, you’ll set off from Nikouria aboard a comfortable zodiac boat, joining a group of divers on this remarkable journey. There’s so much life to find here, so keep your eyes peeled for enchanting creatures such as octopuses, barracudas, eels, shrimp and vibrant coral formations. After a few hours, you’ll hop back on the boat and head back to land.

Day 3 – Free time

The rest of your time is free for you to explore the island at your own leisurely pace. Lace up your hiking boots and venture into the captivating mountainous interior, where olive groves paint the landscape. Discover deserted villages, each with its own story to tell, and stumble upon hidden monasteries. For the more adventurous, there is a spectacular 9.5k loop, leading you to awe-inspiring heights above the cliffs for unforgettable panoramic views. Alternatively, hop on a bus from Aegiali to the island’s capital, Chora. Lose yourself in its labyrinthine streets, where old windmills stand as testaments to a bygone era. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Byzantine monastery of Chozoviotissa, a marvel from the 2nd century.

Day 4 – Departure from Amorgos

After breakfast and a last dip in the pool, it’s time to get back on the ferry either to Athens or to continue your island-hopping tour with a trip to Naxos or Santorini.
