Costa Rica is like a wildlife wonderland! I saw so many cool animals in the rainforests and along the coasts. There were colourful toucans, playful monkeys, and even some rare frogs. The national parks, like Manuel Antonio and Corcovado, were full of diverse wildlife, including birds and sometimes jaguars. The air was filled with beautiful butterflies. I loved that Costa Rica cares a lot about keeping nature safe, so I got to see all these animals in their own homes. It was an amazing experience!

Costa Rica is full of amazing places! The Arenal Volcano area has relaxing hot springs and lush rainforests. I had a blast zip-lining in the Monteverde Cloud Forest, surrounded by lots of different plants and animals. The beaches, like Playa Conchal and Cahuita, were beautiful with clear blue water and white sand. I loved exploring coffee plantations and hiking in national parks. Costa Rica really cares about nature, so I could enjoy all these cool places in an eco-friendly way. It was a fantastic adventure!

Travelling through Costa Rica, Panama, and Nicaragua was amazing! Costa Rica’s jungles and wildlife were incredible, especially around Arenal and Monteverde. In Panama, the famous Panama Canal was a cool sight, and places like Casco Viejo and the San Blas Islands were full of culture and beauty. Nicaragua’s Ometepe Island, formed by two volcanoes, was a unique experience, and Granada with its old buildings and lively markets had a special charm. Each place had something different to offer, making the whole trip a mix of nature, culture, and adventure.

Costa Rica

I used to work as a Tour Leader in Central America, regularly passing through Costa Rica.

It’s my favourite country in terms of flora and fauna, with so much biodiversity. I have been lucky enough to see toucans, many different types of monkey, red-eyed tree frogs and the resplendent quetzal. I also fell in love with the curiously cute three-toed sloth with its permanent smile!

There are so many beaches and national parks it’s difficult to choose where to go but is perfect for nature lovers.

Nicaragua

Colonial Leon is real and raw, whereas Granada I found to be slightly grander. I recommend horse riding as a great way to explore Omepete Island with it two picture-perfect volcanoes. You can even beach comb the Caribbean in the lovely Corn island. On another note, Nicaraguan Flor de Caña is the finest rum I have ever tasted, especially the aged 12 anos.

Panama

The tours I led in Central America passed through Panama, namely the laid back Bocas del Toro islands where you can snorkel and relax. To escape the heat, I recommend going up into the coffee highlands for lovely cloud forest hikes around Boquete. Needless to say you can also buy yourself a hat and visit the famous canal.
