Accommodation in Nicaragua
During your Nicaragua trip with us you’ll stay in a variety of accommodation that truly reflects the local culture and character. You might spend the night in a family home, a jungle lodge or a renovated colonial monastery. We rate our accommodation using 4 categories. Our ratings are not official European star ratings, as these traditionally refer to the facilities provided rather than the level of comfort which we feel is just as important.
In Style Accommodation - Category 4
This category offers you a little something extra in terms of atmosphere or a unique view of your surroundings. You’ll find spacious hotels and stylish rooms with extra facilities and comfort. Perhaps a colourful beach resort situated on soft white sands, a colonial-style hotel surrounded by tropical gardens or an authentic Nicaraguan-style Hacienda on the shores of Lake Nicaragua.
Standard Accommodation - Category 3
A warm and inviting atmosphere, small‐scale charm, cleanliness and a great location are what we look for when choosing our Standard Accommodation. You can expect a mid‐range hotel or guest house. It could be an eco lodge perched on a mountainside, a central city hotel which gives its profits to local charities, or a cosy bungalow with a distinctive Caribbean vibe.
Simple Accommodation - Category 2
In some destinations in Nicaragua, there aren’t too many options, or the accommodation isn’t as important as what you’ll experience when you step out of your front door. You’ll experience this type of accommodation when you stay in the home of a local family in San Ramon. You’ll have your own private room and a shared bathroom without hot water.
