Arrive in La Fortuna
La Fortuna is a small village at the foot of the active Arenal volcano. The village itself is quite touristy, with restaurants and plenty of souvenir shops, so we’ve reserved a lodge just outside the village with a swimming pool and jacuzzi giving stunning views of the volcano. After arriving at your lodge, enjoy the native garden or relax on the terrace of your room before heading into the village for dinner.
Free Time & Hot Springs
After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, this morning is free for you to explore. You can take the easy walk to the waterfall for a refreshing swim, visit the national park and see the majestic volcano – whether it’s covered in clouds or sunshine soaked, it’s always a must-see when visiting La Fortuna. After a morning of exploring, you and your family will head to one of the smaller hot springs where you can all enjoy these naturally heated pools.
Kayaking Trip in La Fortuna
If you fancy some water activities with your family, then head out on this half-day kayaking trip. You’ll be picked up at your accommodation and taken to the meeting point. After a safety talk and a life jacket check, you’ll board your kayak and get ready to head out into the water. Don’t forget your suncream! First, you’ll all head upstream where you’ll row at your leisure along the banks, spotting iguanas and other animals. After stopping for a picnic lunch on the banks, you’ll paddle back with the flow and be brought back to your lodge.
