I was lucky enough to explore this amazingly vibrant country, journeying from coast to coast taking in all incredible sounds, tastes, colours and cultures along the way. What brings all of this to life though are the kind, warm and welcoming people, which is why our customers love it so much. Whether you’re relaxing on a picturesque beach in Tulum, trekking in the jungle among the ruins of ancient civilisations or lost on a packed train in Mexico City, the people will always add an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience.

My trip through Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize was amazing! Mexico City’s busy streets mixed old history with modern life. I enjoyed tasty street tacos and refreshing aguas frescas every day. In Guatemala, Antigua’s charming cobblestone streets and ancient Mayan ruins in Tikal were highlights. Moving on to Belize, the relaxed atmosphere of Caye Caulker’s beaches and the incredible underwater wonders of the Blue Hole made it a tropical paradise. Each place had its unique charm, friendly people, and different landscapes, creating unforgettable memories.

Many years ago, I led tours through Central America and the Mayan loop around Guatemala & Belize was a favourite of mine. Things I loved most were exploring the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, the colonial cobblestone plazas, snorkelling with manatees, climbing volcanoes, serene Lake Atitlan and even the Mariachi bands. It has the perfect mix of culture, history and stunning beach life. Mexican cuisine has to be my favourite and it’s top of my list to return as soon as I can as I want to cook a feast with a local.
