The true beauty of Sri Lanka definitely lies in the breathtaking scenery throughout the whole country. While travelling by train through Ella, you’ll pass rolling, lush green tea hills. I’m most looking forward to spotting the whales and dolphins off the coast of Mirissa!
Sri Lanka just ticks so many boxes! Wildlife, culture, food, history, beaches…I loved it all! I spent three weeks travelling around this fascinating island and enjoyed every moment. The journey between places were just as interesting as the places themselves – especially when taking the train from Nuwara Eliya! Being a big foodie, Sri Lanka blew my mind with its range of delicious local food! But the real highlight for me was definitely spotting the elephants at Udawalawe, as they are one of my favourite animals.
This year I was lucky enough to embark on my first ever Rickshaw trip to Sri Lanka. It’s really tricky to pick a favourite holiday moment as there were so many incredible highlights, from climbing the endless steps of Adam’s Peak and being rewarded with that spectacular sunrise, to sampling some of the tastiest curries I’ve ever had. But I’d have to say, as a huge wildlife-fanatic I was over the moon to be able to spot elephants in the wild on a jeep safari in Yala National Park- a moment I’ll never forget!
