Search for wild tigers in a tropical jungle scattered with crumbling forts and nostalgic hideouts made for Maharajas. Ranthambore National Park is one of the best places to see wild tigers in the world. Race across untamed jungle in the twilight, keeping your eyes peeled for tigers, wild boar, sloth bears and Indian gazelles. Scour rocky plateaus, visit the overgrown 10th century fort and stare out over the scrub from hunting pavilions.

Arrival in Sawai Madhopur
Today, you’ll travel by private car from Jaipur to Sawai Madhopur, near to the National Park. You’ll stay in a cosy hotel set amongst landscaped rolling gardens. In the late afternoon, your local guide will take you to Ranthambore Fort, a massive structure full of chattering monkeys and bright green parrots.
Ranthambore National Park
At sunrise, you’ll set off on your first safari in a Canter (20 seats). If you’d like to upgrade to a jeep safari (6 seats), just let our travel specialist know. Tigers often stalk around the lakes at dawn for a morning drink so with a little luck, you’ll spot one. Even without tigers, it’s an enchanting experience. There are atmospheric views of the lakes, lined with animals lapping up the glassy water.
Afterwards, you’ll return to your hotel for a late breakfast and a chance to relax before your afternoon game drive. You’ll be incredibly lucky if you spot a wild tiger, but you’ll certainly encounter gazelles, crocodiles, sambar deer, monkeys and all sorts of other creatures.
The next day you’ll depart Ranthambore National Park ready for your next adventure.
“After three unforgettable trips, I can’t wait to plan my next India holiday- there’s always somewhere new and exciting to explore! For me, nothing beats the delicious food and the colourful festivals.”
