Siesta in Santa Cruz
Overview
The lowlands of Santa Cruz are not quite what you’d expect to find in Bolivia. It’s not exactly the quintessential image of Andes peaks and highlands, but with its subtropical climate and comfortable low altitude of 400m it’s a great place to sit back and soak up the Bolivian atmosphere. Spend a few days sipping coffee in street side cafes, wandering through the street stalls and taking full advantage of the afternoon siestas.

In the evening you can take a walk to one of the many restaurants, the food here is very multicultural so you’ll have plenty of choice.

Santa Cruz - Free Time
Santa Cruz is a popular trading and has a distinctly colonial atmosphere, despite the many modern buildings in the city centre. The Los Pozos market is a good place to hunt for souvenirs. With its 1.5 million inhabitants, Santa Cruz is a lively place that offers plenty in terms of cultural activities. Find a spot on one of the many shady benches in the Plaza and just watch the world go by.
