Day 1 – Kota Kinabalu – Manukan Island

Today you’ll set off from the mainland to explore the protected Tunku Abdul National Park, teeming with dense jungle and diverse wildlife. You’ll be collected from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu and transferred to the pier to take the short boat ride over to Manukan Island, the second largest island in the National Park. On arrival, you’ll make your way to the only accommodation on the island – a breezy, comfortable resort overlooking the turquoise sea.

Day 2 – Relaxing on the island

You’ll wake up to the sounds of the jungle behind the resort, and today is totally free to spend as you wish. The hotel offers a range of watersports and day tours, and you can also go snorkelling or diving in the crystal clear waters around the island. On dry land, you can take a walk along one of the many trails zig-zagging through the wildlife-rich jungle, or just relax with a book next to the pool.

As the sun fades, any day visitors head back to the mainland and the island takes on a peaceful air. The hotel is your one-stop-shop for everything on the island, and here you can enjoy a dinner overlooking the beach, sip on a few cocktails, and enjoy the serenity.

Today your time on the island comes to an end and you’ll make your way back to Kota Kinabalu. Depending on what time your boat leaves, you can take a final dip amongst the coral and spot the tropical fish flitting by. When you arrive back on the mainland you will make your own way to your hotel, or to the airport to continue your adventure through Borneo.
