Arrival in Orchha

Today, you’ll be transferred to Agra train station, where you’ll begin the journey to Jhansi. When you arrive, you’ll be collected by your driver, who will take you to Orchha, an enchanting town of just 9000 residents. Strung along the banks of the beautiful Betwa River, Orchha is famous for its breathtaking Ram Raja Temple, Chaturbhuj Temple and Lakshmi Narayan Temple.

Orchha Free time

Today, you’re free to explore Orchha at your own pace. Take a walk down to the ruined chhatris, and amble across the small stone bridge that straddles the river. You can also wander around three abandoned 17th century palaces in various stages of repair. It’s a small place with a village atmosphere, where homes are brightly painted and goats and cattle wander the quiet streets.

Orchha Free time

Orchha to Khajuraho temples

Today, you’ll continue to the temples of Khajuraho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the temples with a local guide, known for their erotic scenes from the Kama Sutra. The temples are about 1000 years old, but they’re still in incredibly good condition. You’ll stay in a comfortable nearby hotel with a pool.

The next day you’ll set off for your next destination.
