Arrival in Deogarh
Reaching Deogarh will take 3 hours from Pushkar, and on arrival you’ll check into our majestic palace hotel. This historic Maharaja’s palace is over 200 years old, and each room is individually decorated in colonial style. Although the hotel is grand, don’t expect the luxury of 5 star hotels. Spend the day relaxing with a massage or Ayurvedic treatment, or head to the roof terrace for a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.

Local Train Ride
After breakfast you’ll take a local local train from the 1930s, and embark on a two hour journey through hilly landscapes, and local villages. This is a good way to meet locals as you take in the passing scenes of Indian village life. Your journey ends in Phulad, where you’ll jump into an open-top jeep – your ride back to Deogarh. You can spend the afternoon walking through the narrow streets of Deogarh, where you’re likely to encounter sari-clad women, sacred cows and ox carts.

Departure from Deogarh
This morning after breakfast it’s time to say goodbye to the palace hotel and head to the next stop on your Rajasthan adventure. You can reach Udaipur in roughly 3 hours, or you can head to Chittorgarh and learn how to make a delicious Indian curry. Alternatively, you can always add more time here and enjoy a more leisurely pace on your trip.
