Departure from Kuching

Today it’s time to say goodbye to Kuching. If you aren’t visiting the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary in Sabah, then there’s another chance to get up close to these endearing primates at the Semenggoh Orangutan Sanctuary. It’s located an hour away from the city centre and is open daily. If you would like us to include a half-day trip to the sanctuary, please let your Travel Specialists know and we’ll extend your time in Kuching.

Departure from Kuching

Semenggoh Orangutan Centre

During your time in Kuching, you have the option to visit Semenggoh, a temporary home for various endangered wildlife in Sarawak, especially orang-utans that have either been orphaned or rescued from captivity. Here, they’re trained in all the survival skills, to venture out into the wild and fend for themselves. This tour can be arranged either in the morning or afternoon, to make sure it fits with your day and you get to see feeding time with the the orang-utans.

River Sunset Cruise

If you fancy a river sunset cruise, then in the late afternoon you’ll head to the jetty and board your boat taking you along Kuching’s famous city river. This is a great way to view Kuching from a different angle and will transport you back to a time when goods were shipped across the city, before the invention of modern roads.
