Day 1 – Arrival in Sumba
If you’re travelling from Bali, the flight time to Sumba is around 1.5 hours. When you land on the single runway, you’ll immediately notice the change in pace. Walking inside the terminal, you won’t be waiting long for your baggage, as there is only one conveyor belt. Your friendly driver will meet you here and take you to your hotel in northwest Sumba. Enjoy relaxing in the pool, sitting back with a local beer at the bar and watching the sunset on the beach.
Day 2 – Exploring waterfalls and local villages
After a delicious breakfast this morning, your guide will collect you from your hotel and take you to Mandorak Beach, where you can relax on the powder white sands and take a dip in the crystal-clear water. Next, you’ll continue onto the beautiful Weekuri Lagoon, where the bright turquoise waters shimmer between the rocks. Enjoy soaking in the incredible scenery, relaxing and spending some time by the water. Later, your guide will take you to a traditional village where you’ll walk between thatched houses, meeting the local people and getting an insight into daily life here in the heart of Sumba. Finally, you’ll head to Pero Beach as the afternoon light turns everything golden, watching local fishermen returning from their day on the water. As the sun sets, you’ll make your way back to your hotel where you can unwind and settle in for a relaxing evening after a fun-filled day seeing the highlights of Sumba.
