Beach time in Kerala

Time Out in Tropical Kerala

Bite-sized trip
  • Itinerary:
    Kovalam Beach
  • Duration:
    3 days / 2 nights (flexible)
  • Price:
from £ 225.- per person (excluding flights)
Stretch out on tropical beaches and snooze under coconut palms on the golden coast of Kerala. Swing in a hammock, grab a massage and soak up the sunshine. Sleep in a traditional wooden bungalow set directly on the sand, take barefoot strolls at sunset and let your worries melt away. During this trip, you’ll spend two nights on a quiet beach tucked away from Kovalam’s touristy main strip. It’s a peaceful place looking out over the lapping waves of the Indian Ocean, backed by rice paddies and rustling palms. Try an Ayurvedic treatment or simply collapse in a sun lounger - it’s up to you.

Day 1 – Arrival in Kovalam

The waving palms of Kovalam are within easy reach of both Periyar National Park and the backwaters. Kovalam itself has developed rapidly over recent years, so we’ve opted for a quieter beach nearby. You’ll stay on Nellikunnu beach, a pocket of tropical peace only 10 minutes by road from Kovalam. The teak cottages are tastefully decorated and the beach is just gorgeous.

Days 2-3 – Free time & departure

Today is all about taking it easy. Cool off with a dip in the Indian Ocean, chill out on the beach, grab an Ayurvedic massage or swing in a hammock with a good book – it’s completely up to you. If you’re feeling active, you can take an excursion to Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India.

The next day your beach break draws to a close and you’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
