Bite-sized trip
Day 1 – Arrival in Munnar
Travelling up through the cloudy hills to Munnar is one of the most scenic drives in India, so relax and take in the impressive views. Your accommodation is a tranquil hotel located in a lush valley, just outside Munnar town. The rest of the day is free, so you can take it easy and enjoy the surrounding views, or head into the town for a wander.
Day 2 – Tea museum & tea tasting
After waking up to serene views, you’ll have breakfast before heading to the tea museum. Here, you’ll learn all there is to know about what goes into a good cuppa! There’s a film to watch about the history of Munnar and the British rule, and you’ll have time to take a good look at all the artefacts also. Next up is what’s bound to be the highlight of your day – trying all the delicious cups of tea. Your guide will prepare different blends for you to sample, and you’ll leave with a new appreciation of the tea process.
If you’re feeling active we can arrange a guided morning walk through the tea plantations. You’ll learn more about the process of tea production and see the pickers at work. Ask your Travel Specialist for more information.
Day 3 – Departure from Munnar
This morning, you’ve got time to have a relaxed breakfast, and also do some last minute sightseeing. You can also enjoy a last cup of Munnar’s famous tea, and take in the fresh mountain air. Then it’s time to jump back into the car and head down the mountainside to your next destination.
