Bite-sized trip
  • Itinerary:
    Santorini
  • Duration:
    4 days / 3 nights (flexible)
  • Price:
from £ 415.- per person (excluding flights)
Santorini may just be the most photogenic place in Greece, with its mountainside dotted with dazzling white houses, an iconic sight that has made its way into countless postcards and Instagram feeds. There are also donkeys that roam the streets and let's not forget the remarkable volcanic crater that completes this stunning equation, adding a sense of awe and wonder. You’ll get to finish off each day enjoying the most beautiful sunset of the Cyclades. Some areas are now quite popular, but this beautiful island is a favourite for a reason and there are still some secret gems scattered throughout this paradise island.

Day 1 – Arrival in Santorini

On arrival, a local representative will be waiting for you holding a sign with your name on it to take you to the port capital or Firaa, a picturesque town perched on the edge of a majestic volcano crater with awe-inspiring 270-meter high cliffs. Once you’ve settled into your accommodations and taken a moment to unwind, you’ll probably feel like a refreshing dip in the pool to cool off. In the evening, you can stroll through the captivatingly lit streets of Santorini, where the soft glow of lights illuminates the charming architecture and highlights the island’s romantic ambiance. Have a bite to eat at one of the tucked-away tavernas, hidden within small side streets.

Day 2 – Free time on Santorini

Spend the next few days away from the crowds and explore the island by rental car at your own pace. Begin your journey in the authentic Greek town of Oia, where time seems to stand still and the narrow streets beckon you to wander aimlessly. Lose yourself in the captivating beauty of the traditional houses that line your path. Venture beyond the well-trodden paths and discover the lesser-known corners of Santorini. Journey through forgotten villages nestled within the island’s interior, and witness the remnants of ancient excavations in the north and laze on a deserted black-sand beach in the south.

Day 3 – Boat trip to the volcano and hot springs

On this trip you will set sail from the old port of Fira in the morning, bound for the volcanic island of Nea Kameni. Keep your eyes peeled, you may get to see dolphins swimming along the way! Make sure you have your trusty walking shoes with you at the ready, as you’ll embark on a walk up to the crater rim upon reaching the island. While you may not witness red-hot magma, you will have impressive views of the crater and stunning Santorini landscape. After the active walk, it’ll be time to relax back in the comfort of the boat and swim to the hot springs on the nearby island of Palea Kameni.

Day 4 – Departure from Santorini

Today you can use Santorini as the end point of your trip and transfer to the airport. Alternatively, if you have just started island hopping through Greece then you could travel on to the beaches of Naxos or step back in time on tranquil Amorgos.
