Easter holidays

Family on the beach

Easter holidays are perfect for a wee break, spring is in the air and the cold months are now gone. You also have 2 weeks to explore one of these exciting destinations!

Borneo

Whatever date the Easter holidays are you will get pretty decent weather in Sabah. Sarawak is more off the beaten track if your family really likes to have an adventure, but the weather can be a bit risky around this time of year. Orangutans don’t like rain so you may run a risk of not seeing them. We would say stick to the east where you can spot plenty of wildlife and enjoy the lush beaches.

Cuba

You’ll find Easter nice and cool across Cuba but still lovely and sunny, so it’s a great time to visit. Flights can be pricey, so try to book well in advance to keep the cost down for the family. Booking far in advance will also ensure you can secure a hire car, which we recommend as the most flexible way to travel with a family.

Costa Rica

The great thing about travelling to Costa Rica in Easter is that the weather is reasonably good everywhere, so you aren’t limited to certain areas. Get the whole family cooking on the Caribbean coast, or let the kids wander through the cloud forests of Monteverde.

India

Late March to April is still a good time to visit India and it has a little shorter flight time than some of the other South East Asian countries. The south of the country will be less humid as the north can start getting quite hot, so we recommend sticking to Kerala and the national parks in this area, perfect for keeping the kids occupied.

Indonesia

With April bringing the drier season across Indonesia, this can be an excellent month to go to avoid the crowds but still be able to enjoy the fun-filled activities and immersive experiences the country offers. Why not have the young ones try a surfing lesson on a southern Bali beach which supports other children in the local community?

Malaysia

During Easter, you can travel to all areas of Malaysia as the weather is good, which makes it a great month to visit. This means you can enjoy the beaches on Langkawi, which have family friendly hotels with lots of children’s facilities. If you like to get out of your comfort zone, enjoy the charm and more rustic beaches on the east side of Malaysia, which are perfect to visit too.

Thailand

Taking the family to Thailand in Easter can be a breeze. The weather is generally good across the country and our top family-friendly activities are all accessible. Why not stay in a floating raft house on the River Kwai, or sit back and let the family observe rescued elephants at the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai?
