Back to Nature on Isla Venado
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrive on Isla Venado
Leave your car (and all the worries) behind – it’s time to really unwind and get close to nature. After a short walk through the mangroves, you’ll hop on a boat and in just 15 minutes find yourself on a small island, hidden away from the world in the Gulf of Nicoya. This is your home for the next few days, and here you won’t have many neighbours. You’ll live in a lovely glamping dome, with a good-sized bed, private bathroom and shower with running hot water. Your meals are delivered straight to your door by the member of staff so you won’t need to worry about food (but if you do feel like whipping something up and brought all the ingredients with you – there’s a fridge and a kitchenette on site). Take in the views from a hot tub or your terrace, enjoy a swim or sunbathe on a secluded nearby beach. This tiny slice of paradise is made for relaxation.
Days 2-3 – Boat tour and departure
The next morning after breakfast you’ll get to explore the island from the water. Jump in a boat and your guide will take you around. Then, you’ll move towards the tiny Isla Caballo, barely touched by civilisation. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the island at your own pace – go for a jungle hike through the cacti forest or chill on an unspoilt beach. After lunch on the beach you’ll had back to your glamping dome. The afternoon is free for you to do as you please.
The following morning it’ll be time to leave the island. Enjoy your breakfast al fresco, pack your bags and wave goodbye to the island living. You’ll hop back on a boat and will be dropped off right where you began your adventure, and where your car is waiting for you.
