Bite-sized trip
Day 1 – Arrival in Yangshuo
First, you’ll travel to the city of Guilin, where you’ll be collected and transferred to your hotel in Yangshuo. You’ll stay in a beautiful retreat tucked between Karst Mountains, surrounded by rice paddies and farmland. It’s a hugely warm and friendly place. You can rent mountain bikes and kayaks, or simply explore the area on foot.
Day 2 – Cycling trip and bamboo rafting
Today you’ll set off on a cycling tour and bamboo rafting trip with a local guide. The scenery here is extraordinary, with forest-topped Karst Mountains and small rippling rivers snaking through bright green paddies. You’ll cycle to the river with your guide, starting off on the main roads but you’ll soon leave these behind and pedal through farmland and rice paddies.
Next you’ll hop on a traditional bamboo raft and drift downstream, soaking up the scenery and lazing in the sunshine. After the boat trip, you’ll get back on your bike and cycle to Moon Hill, with gorgeous views from its peak. When you return to the hotel, you can relax with a cold beer on the terrace and watch the sun sink between the Karst Mountains.
Days 3-4 – Free time and departure – Yangshuo
Day 3 is completely your own and you certainly won’t be short of options. Rent a kayak and twist along the rivers, cycle past paddies and stop for a riverside picnic. The following day, you’ll check out of your hotel and hit the road again.

Yangshuo’s light show is a must for one of your evenings out in the countryside. We’ll book the tickets for the evening of your choice and will make sure to pick you up and return you to your hotel. With spectacular Karst Mountains and the river as the backdrop, you’ll be spellbound by the lights, music and artistry of Zhang Yimou’s show.
A taste of China - Cooking lesson
Want to be able to re-create your favourite Chinese meals once you get back home? If so, this cooking class in Yangshuo is for you! A very enthusiastic and helpful Chinese cook will help you prepare the most delicious dishes. An added bonus is being able to sample what you cook during the class.
Tea tour around Yangshuo
China and tea – a perfect match. Just outside Yangshuo, lush green tea fields stretch across rolling hills as far as the eye can see. On this half-day tour, you’ll visit a local tea plantation with your guide and learn about traditional tea cultivation and processing techniques. A visit to Xianggong Mountain is also included. After a short hike, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view over the dramatic karst mountain landscape.
The tour starts around 2:00 PM and ends by 7:00 PM, leaving your morning free to explore Yangshuo’s stunning surroundings at your own pace.
