Tioman Island is all about turtles and tropical sunshine. Every May to September, sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand, with any luck you’ll see them during your stay. The crescent swathes of sparkling sand on Tioman Island are amongst the most beautiful in Malaysia. The stunning beaches are certainly no secret and there are plenty of hidden waterfalls and jungle-topped hills for you to explore.

Free Time

The next couple of days are free for you to do as much or as little as you wish. Tioman is a great place for taking time out, so melt into a lounger and soak up the sunshine. In the evenings, sip an ice-cold beer at sunset, grab a candlelit dinner on the sand or find a fresh fish barbecue. For something more authentic, hop in a water-taxi and explore the hidden villages and beaches surrounding the island.

Departure from Tioman Island

Early this morning it’s time to take the boat back to Mersing your Malaysia adventure. If this is your last stop before you fly home you may want to spend a night at Kuala Lumpur airport as the journey back from will take a few hours.

Like the rest of the east coast, most resorts on Pulau Tioman are closed from mid-October – February due to the monsoon season. The sea turtles start coming ashore around May.
