Arrival in Salta
Salta lies in the green hills of the Lerma valley at 1280m altitude and the flight into the tiny airport is incredibly scenic. When you arrive, you’ll be collected at the airport and transferred to your colonial hotel in the heart of Salta. The hotel is cosy and welcoming, with just 20 rooms and a panoramic patio. The rest of the day is totally free, so wander through the cobbled streets, snack on steaming empanadas and soak up the atmosphere. The central plaza is wonderfully romantic, especially in the evening.
Salta - Full Day Gaucho Experience
This morning, you’ll be transferred from Salta to a working ranch in nearby Chicoana. You’ll be offered a traditional breakfast before mounting your horse and riding from the historical square of Chicoana into the sweeping tobacco plantations, flanked by mountains on all sides. It’s sure to give you a real sense of freedom.
Next, you’ll journey to the Estancia Sayta where a sizzling BBQ will be prepared for you. After the BBQ, your guide will play folkloric Argentinian music on his guitar. It’s a wonderful way to spend the evening. Afterwards, you’ll travel back to your hotel in Salta – but if you’d rather sleep at the ranch then we can arrange this for you too, just ask!
Departure from Salta
Your trip ends after breakfast this morning and it’s time to wave goodbye and carry on your adventure in Argentina.
