    This bite-sized trip will take you to Wilpattu, the largest National Park in Sri Lanka. This park was closed for a long time during the civil war, but reopened to tourists in 2010. It’s the perfect place to head out on an adventurous jeep safari in search for leopards and sloth bears. You’ll stay in an atmospheric safari tent and enjoy an evening BBQ at the campfire.

    Day 1 – Arrival at Wilpattu & jeep safari

    Today you’ll head North, past rice paddies to Wilpattu National Park. Only reopened in the last few years, this park is the largest in Sri Lanka. Once you’ve arrived at your tented safari accommodation and freshened up, you’ll head out on an afternoon jeep safari. Keep your eyes peeled for leopards, sloth bears and elephants hiding in the park’s dense jungle. In the evening you’ll enjoy a BBQ around the campfire – the perfect end to your safari experience.

    Day 2 – Departure from Wilpattu

    Today after breakfast you’ll head to your onward destination. You can continue onto Polonnaruwa where you can cycle through the ruins of the ancient kingdom. Or, if you want some beach time, head to the East Coast and relax on the wide sandy beaches.
