Arrival in Valparaiso
Today you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Santiago de Chile and taken to the central bus station. From here you’ll begin your journey towards Valparaiso. We’ll have already arranged your bus tickets in advance, so you can just hop on the bus as soon as it arrives. In Valparaiso you can easily hail a taxi to take you the last leg of the journey to your hotel.
The districts here have cobbled streets and are dominated by restaurants and art galleries; you’ll see that the streets themselves are packed with artists. This area has by far the most cosy atmosphere in the city as most of the hotels are actually converted houses with only a few rooms and often have a small gallery on the lower floor. This gives them a special charm and it feels almost like home. After checking in, you’ll have the rest of the day at your leisure.
City Tour of Valparaiso
Today, you’ll go on a city tour of Valparaiso with a guide. You’ll travel around by foot and public transport; the most authentic way to get around. At the start of the tour you’ll chat with your guide about what you’d like to see, so the content depends on you. At the end of the morning you can ask your guide about a great place to eat and after a tasty lunch you’ll have the rest of the day at your leisure.
Today is free for you to do as you please. There is still so much to see and do! You could take a bus to nearby ‘Viña del Mar’. This city is known for its beaches, residential palaces and parks with large trees and palms. It’s also one of the most popular beach towns in Chile and a great place to relax and walk along the coast.
Today you’ll say goodbye to this charming port city as your Valparaiso trip comes to an end. After a last, leisurely breakfast, pack your bag and take a taxi to the bus station. We have re-organized a bus ticket for you so that you can easily begin the journey back to Santiago de Chile.
