Authentic Starter Pack
Settle gently into colourful and chaotic India, a riot on the senses. Touching down amidst the commotion of Delhi can be something of a culture shock, so this trip is designed to give you a softer landing. You’ll spend one night in Central Delhi before driving on to the Pink City of Jaipur, crammed with fairy-tale palaces, historic splendour and heaving bazaars stuffed with beautiful textiles.
Onward transfers
Next you’ll make the 4-5 hour journey from Jaipur to Agra, home to the Taj Mahal, via a private car transfer.
Sunrise at the Taj Mahal
Visit mystical monkey temples and ghost cities en route to sunrise at the Taj Mahal. A real wonder of the world, it’s a building that will take your breath away. India’s Golden Triangle is the stuff of legend, with the ethereal Taj Mahal at its pinnacle. This trip will take you from the Pink City of Jaipur to Agra, where you’ll watch dawn break over the Taj Mahal.
Riverside Ruins & Lost Temples
Take the train to sleepy mystical villages and eyebrow-raising erotic temples. Amble along riverbanks dotted with ancient ruins, explore palaces and soak up the spiritual atmosphere. During this trip, you’ll travel from Agra to Orchha, a restful riverside haven free from touts. Next, you’ll visit the sacred temples of Khajuraho, packed with intricate carvings that bring the Kama Sutra to life.
Onward transfers
Today, you’ll make an early start for the journey to Varanasi. You’ll be transferred the 3 hours to the station at Satna, where you’ll catch the train, arriving about 8 hours later in Varanasi getting you there just after 4pm. You’ll be collected at the station and transferred straight to your hotel.
Sacred City on the Ganges
Explore Varanasi, a spiritual city of constant chaos, colour and wandering cows. Watch kids play cricket next to funeral pyres, set flower candles afloat in twilight ceremonies and stumble upon a surprise at every turn. Varanasi is one of the oldest and holiest cities in India. It’s an overwhelming yet beautiful jumble that can be a shock to the senses. Get ready to be knocked off your feet.
Onward transfers
Today, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your domestic flight back to Delhi. Flying time on this route is usually about 90 minutes. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by your driver and taken to your hotel, near to the alleyways and spice bazaars of Old Delhi. The following day, you’ll grab your bags and check out of your hotel. We’ll arrange a transfer to the airport for the beginning of your journey home.
