Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrival Marsala
Today you’ll drive to the charming coastal town of Marsala on the west coast of Sicily. As you enter this picturesque town, you’ll be greeted by the delightful aroma of the famous wine that shares its name with the place. Marsala wine, the oldest and most renowned variety in Sicily, is produced exclusively in this region, making it a true oenophile’s paradise. Stroll through the town’s charming streets, taking in its warm and friendly atmosphere. Marvel at the impressive architecture, and be sure to visit the photogenic cathedral. After exploring the town, return to your agriturismo, a peaceful retreat set amidst the vineyards, where you can unwind and relax with a dip in the swimming pool or bask in the Sicilian sun on the terrace.
Day 2 – Visit wine cellar and wine tasting
You can relax some more at the agriturismo this morning, as it’s not until this afternoon that you’ll head out an exciting wine-tasting adventure. Just a short ten-minute drive from the agriturismo, you’ll find the local vineyard located where we have scheduled a delightful wine tasting experience for you. Upon arrival, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the expansive wine cellar, gaining insight into the winemaking process and the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into producing these fine wines. With the knowledge gained from the cellar visit, you’ll be seated in a charming setting overlooking the vineyards, providing a picturesque backdrop to enhance your tasting experience. Four exquisite wines from the region will be presented to you, each carefully selected to showcase the diverse flavors and characteristics unique to Marsala. Each wine will be paired with different snacks, thoughtfully curated to complement the flavours and enhance the tasting experience.
Day 3 – Departure Marsala
After enjoying one last refreshing dip in the pool and savouring a delightful breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to your agriturismo and embark on the next leg of your Sicilian adventure. You could continue along the west coast to the salt pans, or travel through the Madonie Mountains to Cefalu ,a quintessential coastal fishing village.
