
Day 1 – Arrival in Tetebatu
Today you’ll travel to Tetebatu, a small village nestled at the foot of Mount Rinjani surrounded by green rice paddies. Hike to two waterfalls that come crashing down the south side of Mount Rinjani into the green valley below. It’s a strenuous hike, but there’s a refreshing reward at the end. In Tetebatu you’ll stay in a small cottage amidst the rice paddies surrounded by tall, waving trees.
Day 2 – Hike through local villages


Day 3 – Departure
After starting the day with a delicious breakfast, enjoying scenic views over the rice fields, you’ll be saying goodbye to Tetebatu and moving onto your next destination. If you’d like to stay here another night, your travel specialist can arrange this for you.
To explore more of Lombok’s natural beauty, you could climb to the volcanic crater of Rinjani to catch an incredible sunrise, relax on Gili Islands, or discover turquoise lagoons in Sumba.

If you’re heading to Senggigi, then an ideal stop on the way is Bonjeruk village, where you can learn all about life in the countryside with one of the villagers as your guide. You’ll taste local coffee and seasonal fruit from the comfort of a family kitchen, where you’ll also learn to make traditional crackers from rice, coconut and sugar. Next, you’ll visit the English school, where you can get an insight into the strong community spirit and their development programme, focused on sustainable projects and preserving local traditions. For lunch, you’ll be invited into another family home to enjoy a generous rice table. This is a way you can directly contribute to a local village community.
