Sometimes called the world’s greatest beach, tourists flock to Varadero like flamingoes to a lagoon. It’s easy to see why - a classic tropical paradise, it’s home to swaying palms, powdery sands and shimmery sapphire waters. Whilst it’s far from an authentic Cuban experience, it’s a great taste of the tropical highlife. Just 2 hours from Havana, what it lacks in castaway sensation, it makes up for in feel-good vibes.
Day 1 - Arrival in Varadero & free time
As you arrive in Varadero, you’ll pass along Main Street, a tourist thoroughfare flanked with souvenir shops and restaurants. There’s plenty going on here in the daytime and the evening. You’ll stay in a colourful all-inclusive resort with a friendly atmosphere and easy access to the beach. The rooms are sprinkled across shady tropical gardens, with air-con and private terraces.
Days 2-4 - Free time & departure
Your time here is your own. Sprawl out in the shade of a palm tree, snorkel through the clear turquoise waters, sip on a few cheeky cocktails and wander barefoot along the beach at sunset. If you really want to spoil yourself, book in for a spa treatment for complete relaxation. It’s a wonderful place to do sweet nothing in the sunshine.
Suitably relaxed, it’s time to wave goodbye to Varadero. We’ll arrange your transport to the airport if you’re heading home, or onto your next Cuban destination if not!
