Day 1 – Arrival in Golfo Dulce
You will be met at the airport by our friendly local representative, who will escort you to the port of Golfito, where a private boat awaits, as there are no direct roads leading to your lodge. As you glide across the calm waters of Golfo Dulce, you’ll be surrounded by rainforest-clad hills, giving you a sense of the area’s wild remoteness. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins playfully leaping in the boat’s wake, herons wading along the shore, or even migrating humpback whales (Jul-Oct and Dec-Mar) breaching in the bay.
Step ashore at your luxury lodge set right on the beach, where the rainforest meets the sea and soak in the sense of calm in the absence of roads, lights and crowds, feeling completely immersed in nature. You’ll be sleeping in an elegant room with beautiful views over the Pacific Ocean from the comfort of your own private terrace.
Sustainability and conservation is at the heart of your luxury eco-lodge. The property generates 100% of its own electric energy using hydropower and solar panels, with all hot water being heated by the sun. Biodegradable cleaning products are used throughout and guests are provided with high-quality refillable bathroom products to minimise single-use plastics. During your stay you may have the opportunity to support the lodge’s own research efforts by recording wildlife sightings on nature walks and boat tours. These observations contribute to ongoing biodiversity monitoring in the rainforest and coastal habitats, helping researchers track species distribution, changes in population numbers and strengthen conservation efforts in Costa Rica.

Day 2 – Exploring
Start today off with a gentle yoga session, stretching your body and breathing in the fresh rainforest air, before enjoying a delicious breakfast overlooking the calm waters of Golfo Dulce. Choose from a variety of fresh tropical fruit, locally grown coffee and various traditional Costa Rican dishes, with much of what you eat being sourced from nearby farms or the lodge’s own gardens. Next, take a stroll along the sand and take to the water by kayak or stand-up paddleboard, gliding past lush green mangroves and keeping an eye out for marine life like dolphins, rays and colourful tropical fish swimming beneath you. To explore the vibrant underwater world more closely, you can hire masks and snorkels from the lodge and drift above the clear, shallow waters of the bay.
This afternoon, you can spend some time back on dry land, exploring the rainforest on a self-guided tour through the network of walking trails within 1,000 acres of private natural reserve. Following shaded paths beneath towering trees, you can see how the plants here thrive, and look out for signs of wildlife from the distant calls of howler monkeys, leafcutter ants marching across the forest floor, bright poison dart frogs hidden among the foliage, and toucans flying through the canopy.

Day 3 – Departure from Golfo Dulce
On your final morning, wake up to the wild sounds of the rainforest and enjoy another fresh breakfast overlooking the lush gardens and calm waters of the Pacific Ocean. With any luck, you’ll spot a leaping dolphin to cap off your time in Golfo Dulce. Next, you’ll board the boat for your return journey across the bay, watching the lush jungle fade into the distance as you leave this peaceful corner of Costa Rica behind and continue onto your next stop.
