Day 1 – Arrival in Drake Bay
After arriving in Drake Bay, you will board a small boat for a scenic 90 minute journey through winding mangroves and along jungle-fringed shores. As you journey further into the rainforest, you’ll start to experience a sense of remoteness and you’ll soon arrive at your lodge which is fully off-grid and only accessible from the water. The lodge is sandwiched between the Osa Peninsula rainforest and the Pacific Ocean, with open-air spaces designed to enjoy the sea breezes and sounds of the jungle. Settle into your rainforest suite, where nature and comfort go hand in hand. You’ll be staying in a secluded villa surrounded by lush tropical gardens, with curious wildlife often passing by. From the comfort of your plush bedding, huge windows frame the outside greenery, bringing the rainforest into your room.
Day 2 & 3 – Hiking trails and Caño Island snorkelling
During your stay, you’ll explore some of the wildest corners of the Osa Peninsula. Board a boat and glide along the Pacific coastline to the remote San Pedrillo area of Corcovado National Park, where dense rainforest reaches down to the shore. Stepping onto the beach, you’ll follow the forest trails beneath towering ceiba trees and tangled vines, surrounded by the earthy scent of the jungle. Keep your eyes peeled for howler monkeys swinging and roaring above, scarlet macaws flying through the canopy and rustling leaves that reveal coatis, iguanas or maybe even a shy tapir crawling through the undergrowth.
Take to the water once again, this time for a snorkelling experience at Caño Island Biological Reserve, which is sure to be one of the highlights of your stay. The protected waters here are crystal-clear, with rocky reefs and vibrant coral gardens teeming with marine life. Slipping into the warm water with your mask and snorkel, you’ll likely spot schools of tropical fish, parrotfish grazing on the coral, starfish resting on the seabed and if you’re lucky you might experience the magic of a sea turtle gliding past. There is always a chance of spotting various rays drifting majestically along the sandy floor, and keep your eyes peeled for dolphins that can often be spotted from the boat.

Back at the lodge, sustainability is at the heart of your entire experience, reflecting the remote location on the edge of the Osa Peninsula. Built to seamlessly blend in with the rainforest with minimal impact, the lodge runs off-grid, with responsible water management, a strong focus on reducing waste and avoiding single-use plastics. Through its own on-site research and conservation programs, the lodge supports scientific studies and the protection of the surrounding ecosystems, including marine life and coastal habitats. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to participate in their conservation efforts, by joining marine monitoring trips, helping with data collection while snorkelling, or attending a guided talk or workshop led by the on-site biologists, giving your stay a deeper sense of purpose.
Day 4 – Departure from Drake Bay
On your final morning, you’ll wake up to the sounds of the rainforest, before enjoying a relaxed breakfast overlooking the jungle canopy. Take one last stroll along the beach, before boarding the boat once more, gliding back through lush mangroves and along the wild coastline, leaving behind calls of the jungle as you return to Drake Bay and continue your journey through Costa Rica.
