10 Amazing Photos That Will Make You Want to Visit Canada

Canada really is a feast for the eyes; from its snowy alpine forests and aqua lakes to its shimmering skyscrapers and marine-rich coastlines. With so many eye-popping sights to drool over, we wouldn’t blame you for falling totally in love with Canada before you’ve even set foot off the plane. Here are some of our favourite pics from the Rickshaw photo album to inspire your next big adventure…

1. Banff National park

The Banff National Park is a picture-perfect natural playground, high up in the Rocky Mountains, filled with jagged peaks, lush forests and impossibly blue lakes. Explore the walking trails or glide across Lake Louise in a kayak – you are not short of wonderful options here.

2. Cariboo Mountain Range

The Cariboo Mountains are the most northern range making up the Columbia Mountains. It’s the perfect setting to soak up the awe-inspiring mountain backdrop, try fishing in the lake, have a go at archery or head out on two wheels with a bike ride of the surrounding area.

3. Icefields Parkway

Possibly the most breath-taking road in Western Canada, the Icefields Parkway links Jasper with Banff, and is one drive you’ll be more than happy to take your time over. The highway takes you through towering forests, past bright blue glacial lakes and thundering waterfalls – all with the rugged peaks of the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop.

4. Jasper National Park

If you’re travelling to Jasper from Wells Gray, you’ll pass the mighty Mount Robson – the highest point in the Canadian Rockies; kissing the sky at nearly 4000m. Surrounded by pine forest and shimmering lakes, it’s the perfect pitstop for a photo or three- just remember to bring extra memory cards… You’ll need them!

5. Clinton

The high mountains and deep valleys of the Cariboo Region offer the perfect backdrop for a western-style adventure. Immerse yourself in the world of a Cowboy on a local ranch and while away your days trotting on horseback, sitting by the crackling fire or simply taking in those mountain views.

6. Vancouver

It’s no wonder Vancouver is heralded as the world’s most liveable cities; with its vast park grounds, historic Gastown district and oodles of gastronomic delights on offer, you’ll soon fall in love with the city’s multicultural charm. Sitting in stark contrast to the rugged nature of the rest of the country, this is a highlight of western Canada that shouldn’t be missed.

7. Tofino (Pacific Rim National Park)

Pacific Rim National Park is one of the best places in Canada to spot wild black bears in their natural habitat. Heading out on a large rubber dinghy, you’ll have the chance to spot these magnificent creatures for yourself. Between the washed-up driftwood, you can watch the bears scurrying along the water in search of food.

8. Okanagan Valley

Between Vancouver and the Rocky Mountains is a fertile wine valley full of sun-drenched orchards and shimmering lakes with sandy beaches. Pick ripe peaches and strawberries and enjoy a picnic in the grass. Sip a glass of deep red Canadian wine, read a book on your terrace or top up your tan on one of the many beaches in the area.

9. Toronto

Toronto is known to be the most multiculturally diverse city in the world, and it’s the perfect place to start your Canada adventure! The city offers a lively harbourfront, bustling streets and plenty of international charm. In addition to the buzz that comes from Toronto, the city also has a calm side where you can look for tranquillity on the water.

10. Telegraph Cove

Telegraph Cove & Port McNeill are tiny fishing villages, in the north of Vancouver Island. Which is, in our opinion, the best place to spot killer whales in Canada. Here, the migration route runs close to the coast, and from the beginning of July until the end of September you can admire these impressive animals. Travel through peaceful waters between green islands and hold your breath as the majestic fins rise out of the water.
